Hamptons Organic Modern X Modern Farmhouse
Emily Hughes and Jackie Yoder collaborated with homeowners and H&H Builders to design the interiors of their sophisticated, family-friendly home, full of features allowing them to entertain with friends and kick back with their young, active boys.
The homeowners were seeking a sophisticated twist on modern farmhouse design, pairing coastal, organic finishes with fresh, clean-lined, transitional design elements. The home design combined a blend of light and airy, warm white and white oak finishes on the main level with contrasting darker, more masculine tones on the lower level. The two-story entry foyer of this home includes a catwalk with a bird’s eye view of the two-story great room fireplace surround and open living-dining space. The lower level features a show-stopping, technologically advanced golf simulator room, complete with walnut wood slat walls. This multi-functional room transitions easily from a grown-up entertainment area to a family movie night.
Emily and Jackie collaborated with the client, the builder, and their subcontractors to select cabinet finishes, countertop selections, tile and flooring, plumbing and lighting fixtures, paint colors, furnishings and decor, and wall and window treatments. Construction drawings for custom built-ins and bathroom mirror and lighting placement were also drawn up by lead designer Jackie Yoder, while Emily Hughes provided onsite project management with the builder and subs throughout the building process.

Lead Designer
Jackie Yoder
Jackie first noticed an attraction to art and design when growing up with grandparents who decorated with their collection of antiques. Drawn to the excitement of rare and distinct items, she found herself in many art and design classes in her younger years of education. Initially starting with architectural courses at the higher level, she soon realized her true passion of interiors and changed her major to Interior Design.
Since graduating in 2014, Jackie has learned that her favorite part of design is the form of discovery that she gets to experience every day. Her process focuses on identifying a client’s needs and tastes so their surroundings can be truly curated to fit their specific lifestyle. To her, one’s home should be their great escape, encompassing a combination of function, comfort, expression, and enjoyment. She would describe her personal style as ”Eclectic Mid-Century” but her true mission is to inspire homeowners to be audacious in expressing their own, unique style. She believes every room deserves something vintage (or a plant!).
In her free time, you’ll find Jackie playing golf, foraging outdoors, thrift shopping, enjoying live music, or losing hours to a good jigsaw puzzle.
