The Soft Revival
From Farmhouse to Feminine – A Personalized Oregon-to-Midwest Transition
Upon relocating from Oregon, this homeowner enlisted the Mix Home design team to help transform her newly purchased residence from a white, rustic farmhouse into a warm, inviting sanctuary for her young family. The design directive was to create a home that felt intentional and welcoming—balancing elegance and comfort—while reflecting the homeowner’s personal style and functional needs.
To achieve this, the project included a full refresh with updated paint throughout, new carpeting, lighting upgrades, and thoughtfully selected furnishings and décor that complemented her existing pieces. The design direction embraced soft textures, organic elements, warm tones, and subtle feminine touches—introducing warmth and personality into each room.
As the homeowner prepared to launch a home-based organization business, the space also needed to serve a dual purpose: it had to feel polished and professional for clients while also inspiring creativity and joy for everyday family life. The final design strikes that balance beautifully, creating an environment that feels both serene and expressive—perfectly suited for working, playing, and gathering.
