The Restful Retreat

Emily Hughes and Jackie Yoder collaborated with clients of H&H Builders to design the interiors of their retirement home, full of features allowing them to age in place comfortably and stylishly.

The homeowners were seeking a clean-lined, fresh and modern aesthetic with transitional elements that would blend seamlessly with their existing antiques and collectibles. From start to finish, Emily and Jackie collaborated with the client and the builder’s subcontractors to select cabinet finishes, countertop selections, tile and flooring, fireplace surrounds, paint colors, furnishings, wall treatments and window treatments. A warm, cohesive color scheme throughout was an especially important client priority for finish selection. Jackie and Emily also met with the client’s builder on site throughout the project, from the electrical walkthrough to reviewing details such as grab bar, shower niche, lighting, and mirror placement.
